Just a little filler sketch... When I have some more, I'll post them all at once!

I'm trying to practise drawing Donald in different styles, there's already quite some difference between 1938 and 1940, for example.
This one's based on 1939 (The Hockey Champ). Donald has large eyes with very large pupils, a quite long curvy beak with a high 'nose', and large nostrils. His movements are already very nice and fluid, and his body looks very springy and light. All shapes have rounded lines, and lots of wrinkles. (wrinkles are good :D) Obviously, his hat is still white, and his suit is still light blue with four white buttons. The suit in the comic books has always been black, because it creates more contrast on the tiny b/w drawings.

I love this Donald as much as I hate the later short-beaked one... a lot!

Here are some more sketches, also showing the differences between a 1938 and a 1939 nephew:

That's real nice. I love the classic look. I can't agree more about the short beaks. This version had so more character. Even Carl Bark's beaks shrunk with time. I miss those fun, old Disney comics. Too bad they don't publish them anymore as far as I know.

I've seen these shorts your referencing as well a few months back from a Disney treasures dvd. I love your line work.
